Ingredients

- Rolled Oats - I used rolled oats for this recipe.
- Vanilla Protein Powder - use your favorite brand!
- Ground Flax Seeds - to add some healthy fats to the recipe.
- Mini Chocolate Chips - Because chocolate and peanut butter taste sooo good together!
- Peanut Butter - I used smooth peanut butter.
- Maple Syrup - Adds some sweetness.
See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions

In a medium size bowl, add oats, vanilla protein powder, ground flax seed and mini chocolate chips. Stir to combine.

Add peanut butter and maple syrup.

Use a large spoon to mix in the peanut butter and maple syrup.

Using your hands, take one tablespoon of the mixture and gently roll it into a ball. Place ball on plate and repeat with remaining mixture. Refrigerate for one hour. Remove bites from the fridge and enjoy! Makes 20 protein bites.
Hint: Make sure to mix the dry ingredients together before adding the peanut butter and maple syrup to ensure each ingredient is evenly distributed in the mixture.
Substitutions
- Rolled Oats - I used rolled oats in this recipe but you can easily swap quick oats for the rolled oats.
- Protein Powder - I used vanilla protein powder. Chocolate protein powder can be substituted for the vanilla protein powder.
- Maple Syrup - I used maple syrup to sweeten the protein bites but you could substitute honey if you prefer.
- Mini Chocolate Chips - Mini chocolate chips work best in this recipe because they distribute more evenly into the mixture. In a pinch, regular chocolate chips can be used.
- Peanut Butter - Any type of nut butter can be substituted for the peanut butter.
