See recipe card for quantities.
Instructions

Add ground chicken, egg, parmesan cheese and spices to a large bowl. Use a fork to mix thoroughly.

Add breadcrumbs. Use hands to mix in the breadcrumbs

Shape approximately ½ cup of ground chicken mixture into a patty. Repeat with remaining mixture.

Lightly grease air fryer basket. Preheat air fryer to 400F. Add patties to air fryer and cook for 8-10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165F. Flip patties halfway through the cooking time. Remove from air fryer and serve immediately. Makes 8 burgers.
Hint: Make sure to grease the air fryer basket before adding the chicken burgers because this will ensure the burgers don't stick. I like to use olive oil cooking spray.
Substitutions
- Breadcrumbs - I used seasoned bread crumbs for this recipe. Plain breadcrumbs or gluten free breadcrumbs can be substituted for the seasoned breadcrumbs.
Variations
- Spicy - add ¼ - ½ teaspoon of dried crushed red chilies for some extra heat.
Equipment
Air Fryer - I used a basket style air fryer for this recipe. The same cooking instructions apply to other types of air fryers. Make sure to flip the patties halfway through the cooking time.
Storage
Air Fryer Chicken Burgers keep well in the fridge for up to three days. They can be reheated in the air fryer, microwave or on the stovetop.
Air Fryer Chicken Burgers freeze well. Place patties in a freezer safe container or bag. If using a bag, individually wrap the patties in plastic or parchment paper before placing them into a bag so they do not stick together. If using a container, use parchment paper to separate the patties. Freeze up to three months. Thaw in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Reheat patties in the air fryer, microwave or on the stovetop.
Top tip
Do not overcook the patties because the chicken burgers will be dry if they are overcooked. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165F.
FAQ
Yes! Add 1 teaspoon of olive oil to a medium sized frypan. Preheat pan to medium high heat. Cook chicken burgers for 6-7 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165F.
